Big W Pass on Glass drop-off site relocation

The City’s Pass on Glass drop-off site at Big W is being relocated to the Eastwood Street Shopping Centre carpark (south west corner) near the Ballarat police station from Friday 13 December.

Terry Demeo, Director of Infrastructure and Environment thanked the Management at Alfred Square for being such great supporters of the Pass on Glass initiative, understanding the importance of recycling and offering a convenient location for their customers to drop off their glass.

With increased Christmas traffic at Alfred Square and the need for more regular skip changeovers, the City has made the decision to relocate the drop-off site to the Eastwood Street complex to accommodate residents who do their regular supermarket shop at this location.

“All our Pass on Glass sites have been well supported by our residents, thanks to the co-operation of our extended business community and shopping centre operators,” Mr Demeo said.

“We are exceptionally grateful for how the Ballarat community continues to work together to keep glass out of their recycling bins.

In the lead-up to Christmas, people are urged to remain vigilant and only place the following items in their yellow recycling bins.

Paper

Cardboard

Aluminium and Steel Cans

Plastic Containers from their laundry kitchen and bathroom
