From laser tag and walkabout reptile shows to interactive science experiments and splash n’ slide water sports, City of Parramatta Council is offering an exciting range of experiences for children this summer.

Dozens of free and affordable recreational school holiday activities will be available at locations across the Parramatta Local Government Area from 6 to 24 January 2020.

“The City of Parramatta is the place to be this summer, with Council offering the largest free school holiday program in NSW as well as an incredible variety of affordable classes and experiences,” City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer said.

“Keeping kids entertained can be tough, but we have something to suit all interests and abilities - whether it’s a sports clinic or science workshop. Our activities are extremely popular - get in quick so you don’t miss out.”

More than 2,000 children are expected to sign up for the City of Parramatta’s free school holiday program, with activities including: Hit the Mark with Archery; Active & Healthy Kids: Cooking Edition; Swim, Splash n' Slide; Take Aim and Laser Tag; and the Newcombe Ball tournament. Registrations open at 9:30am on 16 December.

For dynamic learning experiences, head to the City’s libraries. Make slime at a Science Fun workshop. Meet crocodiles at the Walkabout Reptile Show. Join bestselling author Deborah Abela for a Creative Writing Workshop. Or create a virtual world at the new Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library. Registrations for library activities are open now.

Around the City, you can catch the Sydney Festival world premiere of Encounter, a free music and dance show, at Prince Alfred Square opposite Riverside Theatres; get your creative juices flowing at artist-led workshops at Parramatta Artists’ Studios; or learn to swim at Epping Aquatic Centre and Macarthur Girls High School Pool.
