It’s time once again for residents to power up and nominate to swim, cycle and run at the annual Isaac Regional Council Australia Day Triathlon in Moranbah.
The highly anticipated annual sporting event, to be staged at the Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre, is a must do on the community’s calendar.
Mayor Anne Baker said people of all fitness levels, ages and levels of experience are welcome to register to compete.
“Many of our local and visiting triathlon competitors look to this event to energise their health and fitness for the year,” Mayor Baker said.
“We welcome entries from people across the Isaac region and beyond to come and join in this great Australia Day tradition.
“Sport is a huge part of our culture and being part of the Australia Day Triathlon as either a competitor or spectator is an active way to celebrate our great Aussie spirit and nation.
“Events like this help our communities to thrive as we help to energise the world. They require months of planning and preparation and a great deal of people power to bring to life.”
Mayor Baker said the popular event would not happen without the help each year from community groups.
“Thank you to support from Moranbah Highlanders Swimming Club, Moranbah Crossfit, Moranbah Box n Sport and Janelle Vitale Swim School. It is a tribute to the enduring community spirit of Isaac that we are able to host the triathlon each year.”
