The City of Ballarat’s popular Summer Sundays program for 2020 has just been released and is set to deliver one of the most exciting programs to date.
Located within the stunning Ballarat Botanical Gardens, Summer Sundays is held on 5, 12 and 19 January and features talented local Ballarat artists playing jazz, folk and rock n roll music, appealing to a diverse/broad audience.
Hot on the heels of the announcement that Triple J artist Ali Barter will headline the opening Summer Sunday on January 5 with Meraki Minds comes news that indie-rock group Purr Usual will bring their own distinct sound to the Summer Sunday program on January 12, along with festival favourites, That Gold Street Sound, who thrive on audience participation.
Tim Rogers, Australian rock musician, writer and front man of the band You Am I, is sure to have the crowd on their feet when he performs as part of the dynamic line-up on January 19.
Make sure you put each date in your calendar because you won’t want to miss any of the following artists performing between 3.30pm-7.30pm.
Sunday Jan 5 - Maylene Slater Burns, Charm of Finches, Meraki Minds, Ali Barter
Sunday Jan 12 – Ari Lane, Jayden Lillyst, Purr Usual, That Gold Street Sound
Sunday, Jan 19 – Anna Bilbrough, Kee’ahn, Tim Rogers, Sunnyside
Proudly supported by Blue Pyrenees Estate Winery and Kilderkin Distillery, concert goers can indulge and take advantage of the excellent line-of-sight view to the stage or relax even further with their family and friends in the Bean Bag Lounge.
In 2020 the quality and variety of vendors will be another reason to kick back in the cool surrounds of the Ballarat Botanical Gardens with The Dumpling Man, Dos Diablos, Lil’ nomnoms, East India trading Company, St Gerry’s, Luigi’s Gelato, the Paella Guy, Bianco Latte, Steam Coffee Ballarat, Round the Way, The Twisted Fisherman, Grill Your Burger, Forge Pizzeria, Dinkum Donuts, The very Hungry Caterpillar, Luigi’s Gelato, Boost Juice Van and Bean Me Up Espresso operating over the three Summer Sundays.
City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Ben Taylor says Ballarat’s ‘homegrown’ event, Summer Sundays, represents the relaxed summer, hip and creative vibe in Ballarat.
“The event provides an opportunity for our local artists to meet and collaborate with other metro/regional artists locally in our stunning Botanical Gardens. This collaboration delivers on actions of our Live Music Strategy and Ballarat Events Strategy," Cr Taylor said.
