For Photographers

Council is running a photography competition, with the winning photos to be displayed in our new promotional ‘Heart of NSW’ brochure.

The brochure will promote the Lachlan region to our visitors and let them know what we, as a small diverse community, can offer as an immersive bush experience – whether it be nature trails, history, our rich indigenous culture or simply relaxing and having fun in our natural playground.

The categories are as follows:

1.         Animals and people – both native and domestic animals

2.         Native wildlife including birds

3.         Typical farmscape with nature at work – sunsets/sunrises, dust storms, stock work etc

4.         People at play/on holiday

Council is looking for that special moment which makes your photo stand out from the rest and more than one entry per person may be submitted.

Please email your photos (over 1MB) with your name and phone contact details and the section in which you are entering to: [email protected] before 28th January 2020. For each of the sections there is a $50 Why Leave Town card on offer or a gift card to the same amount if you live outside of Condobolin.

For Artists

Council is looking for a logo which is unique to Lachlan Shire and highlights all our natural wonders.

The logo needs to be stylised in a way which hints at these wonders without actually drawing them out in detail. We would like you to include native animal or bird life if possible, as we are looking at making that a part of the “towns and villages theme” eg Warrnambool’s penguins or Shepparton’s town cows.

The logo needs to work well in both colour and grayscale and should be simple enough to be easily printable or embroidered on a T-shirt or cap.

Please email a scan of your design to [email protected] or bring it to the Condobolin Library where they will be able to help you scan and send your artwork.

Entries need to be in no later than 28th January, 2020 and more than one entry per person may be submitted.

The winner will receive a $50 Why Leave Town card or a gift card to the same value if they live outside of Condobolin.

All entries will need to sign a copyright licence and Moral rights deed which gives Council the ability to use the images and logo to promote both the artwork, the logo and credit the artist/photographer.

Entry forms and details can be picked up from Council offices in Condobolin and Lake Cargelligo or you can email on: [email protected]
