Looking for free entertainment over Christmas & the New Year? Why not try one of the many Apps the Library has available including Beamafilm, Rbdigital, Transparent Language or tinker with the car using Haynes on-line car manuals.
The convenience of electronic resources allows you to take a library with you anywhere on your personal device. Take a month’s worth of books on your overseas holiday without carrying the weight, access current magazines in the doctor’s office or listen to an audiobook while you are in the car. The possibilities are endless and only restricted by the content available from your library.
Our streaming service, Beamafilm is Australia’s premium movie streaming channel for true stories and independent voices. The service offers over 500 award winning documentaries, independent features and festival favourites to delight, inspire and entertain you. The Library’s latest resource Transparent Language Online provides library members with access to over 100 languages. It can be accessed from a personal computer or you can learn on the go via an iOS or Android app. Library members can learn to listen, speak, read and write a new language or for those new to English it provides beginner English for speakers of more than 25 languages.
“Lithgow Library continues to provide exceptional e-resources to the Lithgow community. Our on-line resources allow members access to eBooks, audiobooks emagazines, movies, on-line learning 7 days a week, 24 hours a day,” said Mayor Ray Thompson.
To get started with our on-line resources; head to the Library website at www.library.lithgow.com and follow the links to your choice of entertainment, or drop into Lithgow Library on Thursday 19 December from 2:00 – 4;00pm or Friday 20 December from 10:00 – 12:00pm and Get That App.
You will need to be a member of the Library to access these resources so if you aren’t currently a member drop into any of the branches at Lithgow, Portland or Wallerawang to join.
