Liverpool residents can dive into the New Year with a wave of exciting activities, including a pop-up aqua park, to enjoy during the January school holidays.

“We’ve listened to the community and are excited to provide a fun way for families to keep cool during summer,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said.

“The pop-up Water World Central aqua park will feature slides, paddle boats, a tube ride, water zorb cylinders and a wading pool for little ones.”

The aqua park will be at Woodward Park from 28 December until 27 January, with tickets for water attractions starting at $25.

“Water World Central will also serve as a special addition to the line-up of entertainment for our much-loved Australia Day celebration, with the pop-up aqua park neighbouring our event site,” Mayor Waller said.

“Returning to Woodward Park on 26 January, 5pm – 10pm, Liverpool’s Australia Day festivities will feature a stellar line-up of live entertainment for children and adults, amazing international cuisine that reflects the city's diversity, children’s activities, carnival rides and the Channel 10 Fireworks Spectacular at 9pm.”

Families looking for other hands-on fun during the January school holidays are in for a treat, with a bumper line-up of activities to keep children entertained and active.

“There are plenty of school holiday activities in store for children and families which promote creativity, learning and play, showcasing our fantastic parks and recreation spaces, libraries and the world-class Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre,” Mayor Waller said.

“I encourage parents to take advantage of our extensive range of activities which will keep children happy, healthy and active.”
