Council’s Christmas close down period

Councillors and staff would like to wish the Yass Valley community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. There will be some changes to Council's regular operating hours and services during the festive period.

Council’s Administration Office and Council Depot: Closed at close of business on Friday, 20 December 2019 and will re-open again on Thursday, 2 January 2020.

All Library services: Closed at close of business on Friday, 20 December 2019 and will re-open again on Thursday, 2 January 2020.

Home Living Support Service: Closed at close of business on Friday, 20 December 2019 and will re-open again on Thursday, 2 January 2020.

Yass & Binalong Swimming Pools: Closed Wednesday, 25 December (Christmas Day) & Thursday, 26 December (Boxing Day). Please note: The YVC Swimming Program will break for Christmas on Tuesday, 24 December, only the 3.30pm training session will be held on this day. Training will resume on Monday, 6 January 2020.

Yass Valley Information Centre: Closed Wednesday, 25 December (Christmas Day).

Transfer Stations: Closed from 12pm Tuesday, 24 December (Christmas Eve), Wednesday, 25 December (Christmas Day) and Wednesday, 1 January 2020 (New Year’s Day).

Waste Collection: All waste collection services will remain the same as normal except for recycling collection services for Zone three and Yass Estates. This will take place on Monday 23 December 2019. A map highlighting each zone can be found here. 

Planning Inspections: The final day for inspections carried out by the planning department is Wednesday, 18 December 2019, inspections will re-commence on Monday, 6 January 2020. Council will continue to accept planning applications until 3pm Friday 20 December 2019. It is important to note that the assessment of applications lodged from Monday 16 December onwards will not commence until Council's return in 2020.
