Unexpected closure at Aqua Energy

Wellington Shire Council advises that the Aqua Energy centre in Sale will be closed unexpectedly today as a precaution after the discovery, during routine maintenance, of asbestos underneath the pool deck floor level.
To ensure the safety of pool users and staff, the entire centre will be closed as a precautionary measure and to provide free access to contractors for extensive testing to be conducted.
There is no evidence at this time that asbestos is in any other part of the building other than below pool deck floor level.
In the meantime, starting tomorrow, Aqua Energy’s outdoor pool will be open regardless of temperature trigger, using the Guthridge Parade entrance.
We apologise for inconvenience caused to our patrons by this temporary closure of Aqua Energy and will advise re-opening time.
