Council wishes to advise that residents and owners can expect to receive their second quarter water account notices over the next few weeks.
Some delays were experienced when issuing the second quarter water account notices due to the replacement of water meters with smart meters. For most account holders, there is no change as the account notice is aligned with the regular billing cycle. The second quarter notice captures usage for the final read on the old meter until the meter replacement was undertaken.
Council advises that some accounts have extended billing periods which include an additional 40-80 day period on the account.
Accounts that are affected by the additional 40-80 days of billing will have a reduced billing period for the third quarter notice. This will allow all accounts to be realigned to the regular billing cycle. Please note that Reading Days on all notices show the days billed.
Due to the delay in issuing some account notices, Council has extended the period of payment for accounts to 30 March 2020. Please note the due date on the delayed account notice and the information insert which is included with all account notices.
The meter changeover and delayed issuing of accounts will not affect any periodic payment arrangements. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact Council to discuss payment options.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by the timing of your account notice. Should you require any further information or assistance in relation to the smart meter project or account enquiries, please contact Council on 6354 9999 or at [email protected]
