Lachlan Shire Council is pleased to announce the engagement of Aquawest Pty Ltd to complete the detailed design, construction and commissioning of the Tullibigeal bore and pipeline project.
This project will cover all civil works for the bore located on Wyalong Road, as well as the 4.7km pipeline to the recreation ground. This will supply suitable water for irrigation to the recreation grounds, which will improve the standard of the playing surface and reduce the reliance on the town water supply to irrigate the AFL/cricket grounds and part of the race track.
The village of Tullibigeal has a proud sporting history with the recreation ground being the centrepiece of local sporting activity.
It is expected that the recent improvements to the ground, along with this irrigation project and planned lighting upgrades, will enable the community to engage in even higher levels of sporting activity.
Council’s improvements will boost Tully’s sporting facilities to a standard which is certainly the equivalent to other local villages – and arguably better than most.
The project is a combined Lachlan Shire Council and NSW Government project funded through the Stronger Country Communities Program Round One.
