Extra pedestrian access to West Beach now available

Council has been working with Tasrail to secure an approval to open up a pedestrian crossing over the rail line at the north end of Wilson Street.

Burnie City Council Mayor Steve Kons said “The access was formalised today and provides a much needed connection between the CBD and the eastern section of West Beach.

“The timing of the works coincides with, what we hope, is the start of the summer weather.”
