Kids can enjoy a ROAR-some adventure in Fremantle these school holidays on the hunt for some huge, life-like dinosaurs.
From 1 January until 2 February there will be ten dinosaurs to be found at key locations around the city, including the Fremantle Markets, Fremantle Prison and Fishing Boat Harbour.
The animatronic dinosaurs, which move and roar, include the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex and everyone’s favourite herbivore Triceratops.
Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt said the dinosaur trail was just one of many fun things to see and do in Fremantle during the school holidays.
“Fremantle is lucky to have some great school holiday favourites like the Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, the WA Maritime Museum and Shipwreck Museum and all the fantastic activities at the Fremantle Arts Centre,” Mayor Pettitt said.
“The dinosaurs are incredibly realistic and some of them look quite fierce, but I’ve been reassured they’re all very friendly.
“The Triceratops I was introduced to the other day was certainly very nice, but I’m not sure about that T-Rex.”
For some help to find all the dinosaurs located around Fremantle simply download the trail map or collect a map from participating attractions including Fremantle Visitor Centre, Fremantle Library, Fremantle Markets, Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, Fremantle Prison and Clancy’s Fish Pub Fremantle.
There will be also special dinosaur-themed kids activities taking place at the WA Shipwrecks Museum, Kidogo Arthouse, Toyworld and Fremantle Library.
Fremantle Markets Chief Executive Natasha Atkinson said she couldn’t wait for the dinosaurs to arrive in Fremantle.
“Fremantle Markets is thrilled to be part of this exciting initiative,” Ms Atkinson said.
“My son has the Dinosaur Trail Map on his desk ready to go. It’s an amazing free activity for families to enjoy day or night in Fremantle.”
