Following recent illegal land clearing activity on the Kaloogleguy Regeneration Area (land that bounds Mulya Road and Barrier Highway on western side of town), once buried asbestos contaminated material have been exposed due to these activities. Given the risks associated with this material, it is advised that unauthorised access on land adjoining the pipeline road is prohibited. The attached map defines the relevant area subject of on-going investigations by a number of different authorities.

If the public note any illegal land clearing activity on this land, they are encouraged to notify Cobar Police (68309899), NSW EPA (131 555), Crown Lands (1300 886 235) or Cobar Shire Council (6836 5888).
