Council wishes to advise that due to increased demand and a water main break on the main supply to residents of the Lithgow area will experience a loss of water or experience low pressure.
Demand on the system has been high due to the firefighting efforts which placed increased pressure on the network. Overnight, the main supply to the reservoirs burst which has resulted in large loss of water. Council is currently working on a repair and is drawing water from Fish River Water Supply to maintain supplies. Council wishes to advise that it will take some time before the system refills and water service resumes to all customers.
During this period Council requests that residents conserve water as much as practicably possible until the water break is repaired. Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause but is working to rectify the issues as soon as possible.
Further information on the repair timeframe will be provided as it becomes available.
