66749 - Frontline Service Officer (Library Circulations), Dysart

An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent part-time Frontline Service Officer to join Isaac Regional Council's Planning, Environment & Community Services Directorate based in Dysart. Reporting to the Library Circulation & Standards Leader, this position is responsible for receiving, processing and cataloguing inbound library resources and stock through Council’s regional receiving facility in Dysart, ensuing all acquisitions are documented and recorded in Council’s LMS and ensuring new collections are distributed to local Community Hubs.

This position will also be responsible for providing efficient and courteous services to the community through the effective delivery of customer and library focused functions in Council’s Office and Library.

For this position, we are looking for a people-person who is passionate about providing excellent customer service to customers and who will actively engage with community members on a face-to-face basis to establish a human connection with Council. Some of the duties will include (but not limited to):

Receive, process and catalogue inbound library resources and stock ensuing all acquisitions are documented and recorded in Council’s LMS and ensure new collections are distributed to local Community Hubs; Leading or supporting interactive library programming targeted at child, youth, adult and/or senior audiences such as reading, workshops and technology-enriched learning; Management of inbound contact centre phone enquiries; Interpreting and actioning customer/community requests and channel to relevant departments within a timely manner.

The successful candidate will have:

Excellent interpersonal skills with a capacity to work collaboratively, solve problems and resolve conflict; High level written and verbal communication skills; Self-motivated with the ability to work individually and as an effective team member with a continuous improvement approach; Strong face-to-face engagement capacity; Demonstrated experience in the delivery of high-level customer service and/or library services; A high level of experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Blue Card from the Commission for Children, Young People and Child Guardian, or ability to obtain.

For this position we offer:

$31.97 per hour + allowances; Nominally 50 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday; 5 weeks annual leave at 17.5% loading pro rata; 12% super in accordance with policy.
