Council wishes to advise that Brown Street is once again open to traffic after the first seal was completed this week.
The new road provides a more convenient sealed connection between the roads leading to Silverton and the Living Desert, and will also improve conditions for residents who previously had no sealed access to their homes.
Council's Infrastructure Superintendent, Codie Howard, said the project remained on track for completion in March.
"Even though the road is open again there is still work to be done, including the final seal and line marking in March," he said.
"We'll also be working on the entry and exit culverts, so we ask that everyone takes care when using the road and obeys all signage."
The speed limit along the road is 50km/h.
