The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) has warned of dangerous bushfire conditions forecast this Saturday for the Snowy Monaro region.

In light of this, the following waste services will NOT be operational on Saturday 4 January 2020:

•Adaminaby Transfer StationCLOSED 4 January 2020 •Bombala Landfill CLOSED 4 January 2020 •Delegate Transfer Station CLOSED 4 January 2020 •Numeralla Transfer StationCLOSED 4 January 2020 •Smith’s Road CollectionCANCELLED 4 January 2020 •Jerangle Bank of BinsNo Service until further notice

At this stage Cooma and Jindabyne landfills will remain open on Saturday 4 January and all Landfills and Transfer Stations scheduled to open on Sunday 5 January should not be affected. With the predicted weather conditions on Saturday we ask members of the community to refrain from using the landfills on Saturday unless necessary.

The community should be aware that unforeseen changes to services may be unavoidable due to extreme weather conditions, road closures, public and staff safety. Council will continue to monitor conditions and advise the public as soon as practical of any further changes. Please check council’s website and Facebook page for up to date information.

Snowy Monaro Regional Council appreciates the community’s patience and understanding in this matter.
