The City of Fremantle’s revamped Visitor Centre at the Fremantle Town Hall is officially open for business, just in time for the busy summer season.
The upgraded centre has doubled in size and now features a relaxing lounge area where visitors can sit and contemplate all the amazing things there are to see and do in Fremantle.
Visitor Information Services Team Leader Rosetta Letizia said the changes meant they could now offer a much better experience to visitors to Fremantle.
“Before we had a small Visitor Centre crammed into just one room in the Town Hall,” Ms Letizia said.
“It’s now a much more inviting place and we’re finding that visitors are staying longer and using the lounge and seating spaces to take advantage of the free WiFi to browse and book using their own device.”
The expansion of the Visitor Centre has created extra space to display more information and brochures about all the things to see and do in Fremantle, plus there’s an iPad available for visitors to use to book tours, activities and accommodation.
There are also the large and colourful photographs of Freo locals featuring the City’s ‘This Is Fremantle’ destination marketing branding, plus new advertisers and videos on the digital screens.
The Fremantle Visitor Centre is open every day of the year except for Christmas Day and Good Friday. It’s open from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
The City also has an army of volunteer tourism ambassadors who provide a friendly face and local knowledge to ensure visitors are able to experience the best Fremantle has to offer.
