With more hot, windy conditions forecast the City of Ballarat is reminding residents of the need to remove fire hazards this Summer, such as long grass. 

Despite some cooler days, the Fire Danger Period remains in force. 

The CFA has responded to a number of illegal burns in recent days. Residents are reminded that it is an offence to burn off during the fire danger period, and they can be faced with severe penalties. 

Ballarat residents should remain aware of fire bans and extreme weather conditions this summer and are urged not make poor decisions in relation to the use of equipment that can spark fires.
