Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio today (January 13) extended his best wishes to Roger Taylor, who is gravely ill in a Brisbane hospital.
Mr Taylor, who is the husband of Toowoomba Regional Council Deputy Mayor Cr Carol Taylor, was transferred to the Princess Alexandra Hospital at the weekend. He had earlier collapsed after he was bitten by a snake at his Vale View home, outside Toowoomba.
Mayor Antonio said he and his Council colleagues were shocked by the incident.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Roger, his wife Carol, and their extended family as they deal with a difficult and unexpected situation,” Mayor Antonio said.
“I am saddened to hear the news. Roger is a fine gentleman who has very ably assisted his wife through her extensive local government career and in their family business.
“It is some comfort to know Roger is receiving excellent care and we pray that his condition improves in coming days.
“We all wish for him to make a complete recovery.”
