The Mayor’s Relief Fund, set up to support residents impacted by the Green Wattle Creek Fire, has now supported 112 local families with financial support of close to $90,000.
The fund has enabled residents to replace whitegoods, fell dangerous trees, replace water tanks and purchase water and stock feed for livestock.
Financial support for residents of up to $5,000 is now available under Round 2 which closes Friday 24 January 2020.
Round 3 has also opened and targets Not for Profit Community and Charitable Organisations with funds up to $10,000 being made available for programs which aim to support residents with bushfire recovery. Round 3 closes 31 January 2020.
Mayor Cr Matthew Deeth said “The Mayor’s fund has received around $350,000 thanks to the generosity of our community, business and industry. The funds will provide financial support to many people and groups through the recovery process”
