Minto residents are invited to a multicultural celebration of their community at Light Up the Lane on Saturday 1 February.
The free event is on from 5pm to 9pm in Erica Lane where the streetscape will be brought to life and a variety of activities will be available for local families to enjoy.
Light Up the Lane is being organised by Uniting Minto, a new group of local residents who will organise events and activities to promote the vibrant community in the area, with support from Council.
The event forms part of Council’s Love Minto place making project with beautification works completed in Erica Lane to help bring more vibrancy to Minto and celebrate its diversity.
“It’s great to see spaces like Erica Lane brought to life with a community event like this,” Mayor George Brticevic said.
“Minto is a really vibrant multicultural community and I’d encourage everyone to come down and experience the performances and music of the various cultural groups we have in Minto,” Cr Brticevic said.
Children can also take part in a free art competition for children.
A fundraiser will also be held on the night to raise money for bushfire affected communities.
