Locals now have even more ways to get active outdoors with the installation of four new exercise stations at Picton Oval.
The stations include a cardio stepper, chest/back press, balance steps, and Tai Chi wheels, with soft-fall rubber at the base of each piece of equipment.
Construction on the $76,880 project was completed on January 21, and was funded through the Picton Oval Committee ($36,880) and the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities program ($40,000).
Mayor Darriea Turley said the stations would make the oval even more attractive for those seeking some exercise and fresh air.
"This oval is already popular with people who want to enjoy a run or walk, and these stations will allow them to throw in a few extra exercises if they wish," she said.
"The Picton Oval Committee should also be commended for their input into this project and their commitment to maintain it.
"We originally planned to install a single multi-purpose exercise station, but the Committee were determined to provide residents with a bit more variety and put forth the funding to make it happen."
The stations are completed and ready for public use.
