Cessnock City Council is pleased to announce that the hugely popular free mattress drop-off day will take place on Saturday 22 February 2020 from 8am to 12pm.
Cessnock residents can dispose of up to four mattresses or bases, completely free of charge at the Council Works Depot carpark at 2082 Old Maitland Rd.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said it’s a popular initiative.
“We see many residents taking advantage of this day. It’s good for our residents who get to rid themselves of an unwanted mattress and great for our environment where 75% of the materials will be recycled.”
This event is for Cessnock City Council residents only and proof of address is required. Mattress drop-offs must also be made using a vehicle as there will be no pedestrian access.
If you’re unable to attend the drop-off day, mattresses can be taken to the Cessnock Waste Management Centre for disposal for a fee of $33.
