What Council is doing to help
Greater Dandenong City Council is actively working to support the bushfire affected communities.
Council is supporting the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) to coordinate statewide local government resources to be called upon as necessary. Staff are also supporting the cause by running various fundraising initiatives and volunteering for the CFA or SES. Stakeholder Forum
Mayor Jim Memeti is organising a forum that will bring together some key community and business leaders to discuss what more the Greater Dandenong community can do together. We will share the preferred ideas from this forum in February.
How our community can help
Below are some good ways you can support the cause, especially if you can't be part of the relief in the affected communities.
Donate
You can help by donating to the Bushfire Disaster Appeal at any Bendigo Bank branch or online via www.vic.gov.au/bushfireappeal.
Be safe
Ensure your own safety and that of your family and friends. This means actively keeping up to date with safety and weather updates and being mindful of health issues caused by smoke and heat.
For current updates visit emergency.vic.gov.au/ or download the VicEmergency app.

Fundraise
If you're organising a local community fundraising event for the Bushfire Disaster Appeal, we can help get the word out via our online events calendar on this website. To submit your event for consideration please fill in the form on greaterdandenong.com/listyourevent.
For anyone wanting to hold a fundraising event at a Council venue or park, our Events team will work co-operatively with you to assist in any way possible.
Together, we can all make a difference.
