Strathfield Council is celebrating its first Lunar New Year Festival in the heart of Chinese culture in the area – Homebush West!
2020 is the year of the rat, symbolising wealth and prosperity, and we’re celebrating with cultural performances, activities and food on Saturday 25 January along Henley Road, Homebush West.
The festivities will include local businesses and restaurants showcasing their products with live cultural dance performances and a traditional lion dance. There are plenty of activities for kids featuring lantern and origami workshops, face painting and a jumping castle.
Make sure to look out for Caishen who will be handing out red packets and wishing everyone well for the new year.
