Isaac Regional Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Director Engineering and Infrastructure who will strategically lead and manage the Engineering and Infrastructure (E&I) Directorate of Council.  The E&I Directorate is a service responsible for managing and maintaining roads and related infrastructure, technical services, traffic management, civil infrastructure, parks and recreation spaces, fleet and depots as well as the corporate properties functions across the Isaac Region.  This position is responsible for developing appropriate strategic direction and associated programmes, plans and budgets for these functions and is accountable for ensuring regulatory and legislative requirements are met.  It is the responsibility of the Director E&I to ensure strategies, plans and programmes are developed in the context of Council’s policies and Corporate Plan and are directed to achieve whole of Council outcomes.

ABOUT YOU

Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline; Significant knowledge of Local Government with proven ability to work independently, exercise initiative and meet deadlines; Demonstrated leadership and achievement in managing and motivating staff teams and developing an integrated team culture; Proven experience in the preparation of business plans and budgets; Demonstrated experience in effectively developing and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders, including all levels of local government, other levels of government, regulators, community and elected representatives.
