Western Downs Regional Council in partnership with Swimfit and privately-owned community pools will be offering a fun way to keep cool through the remaining weeks of summer.
Following the great success of previous pool parties, these popular events will be making a comeback throughout the month of February 2020.
The last splashes of the summer season will be delivered in Bell, Chinchilla, Dalby, Moonie and Wandoan.
The reduced cost of $2 per person includes general entry to the pool and the chance to tackle the giant inflatables while soaking in the summer sun with fellow community members and visitors.
Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development, Councillor Kaye Maguire said she was excited to see these popular events return to local pool facilities, offering residents another chance to be a part of our active, vibrant communities.
“With hundreds from around the region having gathered to enjoy our fantastic local pool facilities, we are proud to deliver them one last time before the summer season comes to an end,” she said.
“Families will be treated to all the fun and entertainment they’ve grown to expect from these exciting community events including the giant inflatables, as well as yummy food and drinks to stay energized for an afternoon of fun in the sun.
“Thanks to the Moonie P&C partnering with Council, the Moonie community will also be treated to a free outdoor screening of ‘Abominable’ at the Moonie Sports Club following the pool party.
“Additionally, on this Australia Day, Sunday 26 January, Council and Swimfit will also be offering a discounted entry of $2 at all Council owned pools (Chinchilla, Dalby, Jandowae, Miles, Tara and Wandoan) between 2pm and 4pm.”
