An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent part-time Frontline Service Officer – Library Circulations, to join Isaac Regional Council's Planning, Environment & Community Services Directorate based in Dysart.
Reporting to the Library Circulation & Standards Leader, this position is predominantly an administrative position, responsible for receiving, processing and cataloguing inbound library resources and stock through Council’s regional Library receiving facility, ensuing all acquisitions are documented and recorded in Council’s Library Management System (LMS) and ensuring new collections are distributed to all local Community Hubs. This position will also be responsible for covering and providing efficient and courteous services to the community through the effective delivery of customer and library focused functions in Council’s Office and Library.
For this position, we are seeking someone with strong administration skills particularly in Microsoft Excel, and a people-person who is passionate about providing excellent customer service with both our internal/external customers and Stakeholders. Some of the duties will include (but not be limited to):
Receive, process and catalogue inbound library resources and stock, ensuing all acquisitions are documented and recorded in Council’s LMS and new collections are distributed to local Community Hubs; Invoicing and receipting of incoming stock using the Library Management System Data analysis, extracting and manipulating data between reports and Excel, and regular report production. Management of inbound contact centre phone enquiries when covering functions in Councils Office/library. Interpreting and actioning customer/community requests within a timely manner. Leading/supporting interactive library programming targeted at child, youth, adult and/or senior audiences such as reading, workshops and technology-enriched learningThe successful candidate will have:
High level written and verbal communication skills; Self-motivated with the ability to work individually and as an effective team member with a continuous improvement approach; A high level of experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Excel; Demonstrated experience in the use of Management Information Systems Demonstrated experience in the delivery of high-level customer service and/or library services; Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively, solve problems and resolve conflict; Strong face-to-face engagement capacity; Blue Card from the Commission for Children, Young People and Child Guardian, or ability to obtain.For this position we offer:
$31.97 per hour + allowances; Nominally 25 hours per week (5 hours per day, Monday to Friday); 5 weeks annual leave at 17.5% loading pro rata and 12% super in accordance with policy.Position Description
