Rates payment due dates - friendly reminder

City of Maroondah ratepayers who have elected to pay their rates in a lump sum are reminded that payment is due by 15 February 2020.

Those who have elected to pay their rates in four instalments are reminded that the third instalment is due by Tuesday 28 February 2020.

Revenue collected from rates payments, along with Council’s other income, helps to fund local infrastructure and services for the benefit of the entire community.

As advised on the rates notice, ratepayers have a number of options for payment:

Online - using your credit card In person - at any Council Service Centre or at any Australia Post Office Telephone - using a credit card BPAY - make payments directly from your bank account Mail - using the re-usable envelope attached to your rates notice Direct debit - Pay using direct debit from your bank account by completing a Direct Debit Request form on Council’s website.

Council has a Financial Hardship Policy to assist ratepayers who may have difficulty in meeting rate payment deadlines.

Any ratepayer facing genuine hardship in paying their rates is urged to contact Council’s Revenue Services team as soon as possible to discuss individual circumstances.

The Revenue Services team treats each call with utmost confidentiality and will make every effort to help those people who may be struggling financially.
