Greenpatch camping ground closed

The Greenpatch camping ground in Gordonvale has been closed due to potential flooding risk.

The campground is on the Mulgrave River floodplain and therefore can be inundated during the wet season.

Records from the Bureau of Meteorology show the area flooded 14 times in the 17 years to 2017.

With the onset of heavy rainfall, which is expected to continue for several days, Council has closed the camping ground until further notice.
