Local Safety Forums are a direct outcome from Council's Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan. Forums are held in each of Council's 5 wards throughout the year. They are hosted by Council and the NSW Police Force (relevant Police Area Command).

Council and Police highlight crime prevention initiatives in the area, discuss crime trends and workshop solutions to local issues. Residents are invited to attend the forums to gain a better understanding of the current safety issues relevant to the Ward in which they live, work or study. They are also encouraged to express their safety concerns.
