Kearsley Public School upgrades delivered in time for new school year

Cessnock City Council has delivered important upgrades to pedestrian and car parking facilities at Kearsley Public School in time for the new school year.

Parents and students were pleasantly surprised on the first day back of 2020 by the works that make drop- off and pick-up time a lot safer and easier.

The works carried out over the school break include the construction of a concrete pedestrian path from Mulbring Street to the school and a Kiss and Ride Zone. The works also include the installation of 13 rear to kerb angle parking bays and one mobility parking space.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said the works were carried out after Council sought feedback from the school community.

“It’s an excellent outcome for teachers, parents and students. We listened to their concerns and were able to carry out works that really do provide a safer environment for our youngest residents.”   Kearsley Public School Principal, Melissa Trigg praised the completed works.

“These works have greatly improved the appearance of the area as well as providing a safe pathway and parking area for our families to utilise.”
