An additional kerbside bulky waste collection service for bushfire related materials is scheduled to commence on 17th February 2020
Lithgow Council has arranged an additional kerbside bulky waste pickup for bushfire related materials. Residents who wish to take advantage of this service should, by midday on Friday the 14th February 2020, contact Council’s Customer Service Office on 6354 9999. Residents are reminded that a service by request will apply.
The pick-up is not intended to cater for major clean-ups of properties that have been destroyed or severely damaged, however it will assist with general fire damage material prior to a major clean-up or assist with properties that have experienced lesser damage. The service cannot cater for properties where asbestos has been identified or remove any material suspected of containing asbestos. The following items will be excluded from this special collection:
* White goods * Mattresses * Bricks * Concrete
There is another bulky waste service scheduled for 16 March 2019, which will be advertised though the normal channels where the listed items can be accommodated.
The normal rules apply for a kerbside bulky waste collection being:
• To be eligible, the property must have a current garbage/recycling collection service • The Contractor will only collect up to 3 cubic metres of material (e.g. 3m long, 1m high and 1m wide). (NB – under the extenuating circumstances, the Contactor will provide some reasonable flexibility) • The Contractor will only collect bulky materials capable of being picked up by two (2) people. • The Contractor will not remove any liquid or material, which requires the use of a shovel or any toxic or chemical material.
