Western Downs Regional Council has this week commenced works to further-beautify the Jandowae town area as part of a continued commitment to enhancing lifestyle opportunities for residents and visitors.
The revitalisation project will feature a range of upgrades to landscaping and public infrastructure which would enhance the vibrancy and liveability of the area.
Spokesperson for Parks, Open Spaces and Cemeteries Carolyn Tillman said the project would deliver a series of upgrades to the High Street area and was the result of extensive collaboration with the local community.
“Our local communities are the foundations of our great region and these common-sense improvements will go a long way in encouraging more people to meet, stop and relax in Jandowae, as well as making the town more attractive to visitors passing through,” Cr Tillman said.
“Works will include upgrading the centre medians along High Street to include garden beds, turfed areas and an improved irrigation system.
“Works will also include installing new street furniture, garden beds and tree plantings along High Street as well as tree plantings at Community Centre Park.” The project is expected to be completed by the end of February.
