Forget borrowing your mate’s ute to clean-up your yard this year - you can get Council to do it with just a click of a button.
Council’s online bulky waste collection service will come straight to your front door to remove anything from green waste to an old washing machine.
Acting Mayor Mike Charlton encouraged Moreton Bay residents to take advantage of this on-request service.
“It’s never too late to start fresh by giving your property a good clean up,” he said.
“From old household appliances to overgrown backyard vegetation, residents who are time poor or unable to transport these large materials to a waste management facility will find this option quick and convenient.”
Council’s bulky waste collection service is a paid on-demand service that helps residents remove large items from their home that don’t fit into their standard wheelie bin.
Residents can book a service in advance via an easy online process that checks eligibility and provides easy calculators to estimate volume and costs as well as instructions on how to prepare your items.
Collection fees start from $45 for a cubic metre of green waste, including garden vegetation and tree branches, and $70 for a cubic metre of household items such as electronics, furniture and clothes.
This service is for residential properties only with collected items taken to the resource recovery area for recycling or resale at the Council’s treasure markets where possible.
