Ballarat Community Garden will celebrate its annual Autumn Harvest Festival, thanks to the City of Ballarat’s Community Impact Grant program.
Members of the not-for-profit organisation successfully applied for a Community Impact Grant of $1,978 to help fund activities as part of its celebration, which will feature music, pizzas, a sausage sizzle, afternoon tea, plants, preserves, craft, children’s activities, gardening talks and much more on Sunday 1 March from 11am-3pm.
The Ballarat Community Garden is located on land managed by the City of Ballarat. The Garden was built in 2004-2005 and is designed to be a place where people can grow, learn and connect. It now features 75 plots, a chicken coop and pizza ovens for its members and regularly hosts a calendar of community events.
The Community Impact Grant program is a great opportunity for not-for-profit community groups to apply for funding for a range of projects, programs and community events.
The program assists numerous grassroots groups each year and contributes to a vibrant, connected community.
Round 3 of the 2019-2020 grant program is now open and closes on Friday 28 February at 5pm.
Applying is easy. Grants of up to $2,000 or up to $20,000 are available. Visit ballarat.vic.gov.au to find out more about the City of Ballarat’s Community Impact Grant program and to apply online.
