Thinking of becoming a Councillor?
Council is hosting candidate information sessions ahead of the 2020 Council elections in October.
Elections are held every four years in Victoria, and nine councillors are elected in Macedon Ranges Shire across three wards.
If you would like to have a say on what happens in your community as a councillor, and would like more information on becoming a candidate, register for an upcoming Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA) candidate training session.
Topics to be covered include the roles of councils and councillors, how local government works, how to develop an election platform, and campaigning.
The VLGA will be running two information sessions at the Woodend Community Centre on Thursday 19 March, from 10am–1pm and 2.30pm–5.30pm. Register online. Note: registration is not compulsory.
