People seeking to develop their business idea, or investors keen to be part of helping businesses grow and development, will benefit from the new Gympie Region Investment and Innovation Program (GRIiP).

Delivered by Gympie Regional Council in partnership with The Generator Gympie, the Gympie Chamber of Commerce and Angel Loop (Angel Investment), the program aims to establish the Gympie region’s own angel investor group to support start-ups and high-growth local businesses.

Organisers are hoping the program will:

• better prepare start-ups or high-growth businesses when seeking investment in their business idea

• support local investors by equipping them with the skills and tools to effectively assess investment opportunities

• build confidence in the business sector and help create an environment that supports job creation and improved employment outcomes for residents.

The program will be officially launched on Wednesday, 19 February 2020 at Gunabul Homestead with a series of free presentations and information sessions.

Individuals and businesses seeking investment in their business concept are invited to attend a presentation by Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, Leanne Kemp, at 9am. The presentation will explain the impact of involving investors and what you need to be prepared to give up to secure investment in your business.

Individuals and businesses who love the Gympie region, want to see it prosper and are seeking to invest in new or fast-growing business ideas, are invited to come along at 11:30am and join Simon Horne from Angel Loop to discuss angel investing and hear some start-up pitches.

The launch event will be followed by three information sessions that tackle investment success for both businesses and investors, and culminates in a Gympie Region Angel Investors Pitch on Wednesday, 17 June 2020.
