Clermont water update - 19 February 2020

Isaac Regional Council acknowledges the community’s concerns in relation to water discolouration in Clermont and assures residents the water is safe to drink.

Council appreciates that the Clermont community are understandably concerned about water discolouration in the town water supply and are assessing a range of measures to address this.

Regular water samples are taken from the water network and these results confirm that the discolouration does not affect the safety of the water. Council is taking additional samples to reaffirm these results.

Water mains flushing has been undertaken to clear the network of discolouration and sediment.

Council needs to know when water quality or quantity issues arise and we have 24 hour response capability. Often the immediate solution is quite simple if we know there is a problem.

Please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227).

The community is entitled to expect a quality drinking water supply and Council shares this expectation, which is why we are prioritising this issue and working to resolve these water colour concerns.

Council thanks the public for their patience.
