The RSLWA has announced that it is opposed to the use of Acknowledgement of Country at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service and Remembrance Day service.
In response, the Mayor Cr Renee McLennan said: "Our Town values the contribution that all members of our diverse community have made throughout history. We celebrate the progress that has been made towards building understanding and reconciliation with the traditional owners. We support further steps to strengthen these relationships and will continue to acknowledge the Aboriginal custodians in all of our public meetings and events."
