Council is undertaking a valve removal as the final stage of the cut overs of mains in Inch Street, Lithgow.
To complete the removal of the valve, the 300mm feeder main will be shut down in Bridge Street between Tank Street and Mort Street. Residents in this area may experience a reduction in water pressure or no water during this time.
Council cannot advise at what time the works will be complete, but will aim to minimize the period of disruption and provide updates as they become available.
Upon return of normal service, residents may experience dirty water for a period. Council will endeavour to minimise this by flushing the mains. Before using the water for domestic purposes, residents are advised to run the first tap that services their property to ensure the water is clean and any dirt released into the system has been flushed before running internal taps.
Council apologizes for the ongoing interruption it has caused and would like to thank the community for their patience. Please observe all road rules, obey signage within the area and drive to the conditions.
