The City of Parramatta is moving forward with plans to transform the Parramatta City River Foreshore.
Anticipated for completion in 2022, Charles Street Square will be transformed into a vibrant public space, an accessible entry point to our City that celebrates the Parramatta River.
Proposed upgrades to Charles Street Square are part of significant ongoing investment in the revitalisation of Parramatta Quay and one of the first of a series of projects which aim to bring to life the vision for Parramatta as Sydney’s Central River City.
Draft concept designsThe City of Parramatta has developed a draft concept design for the upgrade of Charles Street Square that draws inspiration from the curved geometry of the river, the surrounding landscape, and the site’s unique history.
The draft concept design features new ramps and stairs, a wide riverfront walk, flood-resilient and sustainable design elements, and more trees for shade and a parkland experience.
Submissions in response to the draft concept designs close 4:30pm Monday 16 March 2020.
