Parvovirus at Lithgow Animal Shelter

Lithgow animal shelter has been temporarily closed due to an outbreak of Parvovirus.

An outbreak of Parvovirus has forced the temporary closure of Lithgow Animal Shelter.  Full cleaning and disinfection with a specialist anti-viral disinfectant will occur prior to Council being in a position to accept any more animals at the facility.

Council will investigate alternatives for housing animals in the meantime but until further notice no animals may be left at the stray animal drop at the facility.
