A major safety upgrade for Beach Road – between Miller Street and Golf Links Drive, Batemans Bay – is underway.

Work includes renewing stormwater infrastructure, replacing the water mains, and raising the level of the road and pathways to accommodate rising sea level.

The existing median islands will be extended to allow improved traffic flow and reduce the risk of rear-end collisions associated with driveway entry/exit. Driveway access along this section of Beach Road will be restricted to left-in/left-out only.

To minimise disruption, work will be undertaken on a single lane. Traffic control will be in place.

Residents and property owners have been notified by letter.

The NSW Government has contributed $1.8million toward the upgrade through the Safer Roads – Saving Lives on Country Roads program. For more information visit the Beach Road Safety Upgrade project page
