Council is undertaking a flood study for the township of Woodend in order to enable communities to become safer and more resilient against flooding.
This work is being undertaken with financial support from the Victorian Government. Under the North Central Regional Floodplain Management Strategy 2018-2028, Council must update land use planning controls to protect new and existing developments from riverine flooding.
It is anticipated the project will result in updated and sufficient flood information which can be used for land use planning, flood management planning, emergency response and flooding education.
As part of the Woodend Flood Study, landowners will be asked to provide information on past flooding behaviour in the township through an online survey.
