The Shire of Ashburton is seeking community input on projects for consideration as part of next year’s budget.

Footpath improvements, upgrades to parks, playgrounds and recreation facilities and support for new and improved social amenities are all possible based on community feedback.

Shire President Kerry White, is encouraging community members to make the most of this opportunity and inform council of what is important to them and what they would like to see in their town.

“Community feedback at this stage assists Council to make decisions on projects and infrastructure that is desired in our community and enables Shire staff to provide develop appropriate budgets for the next financial year”, said Councillor White

“Proposals will be considered based on their benefit to towns and residents and also how they fit within the Shire’s Strategic Community Plan.

“This plan provides a clear direction for the future advancement of the Shire, its towns and communities.

“We are committed to the development of vibrant, connected and active communities that have access to quality services, exceptional amenities and economic vitality.

“It is through the best possible delivery of these services and infrastructure and embracing our Pilbara environment that will ensure we have liveable towns and a place where people want to live.

“A copy of the Strategic Community Plan is available at any of our administration buildings and libraries and can also be downloaded from www.ashburton.wa.gov.au.

“Please complete a Capex Request form through our website. Hard copies can be made available on request.

“If you are uncertain about what to submit or are unsure about an idea, Ashburton Councillors and staff are available to speak with”.
