Hurlstone Park is soon to become community central, with village centre improvements and a new community space set to energise the City.
With plans to enhance community life in Hurlstone Park, City of Canterbury Bankstown are asking for residents to play their part in shaping the future of the area and have their say.
Residents will have the opportunity to give feedback on:
Concept designs for a multi-purpose community space and 20-year master plan for Hurlstone Memorial Reserve, Hurlstone Park; Proposed street upgrades to improve walkability in and around Hurlstone Park village centre; and Proposed improvements to the village centre.Mayor Khal Asfour said it's important to consider the communities priorities when improving facilities in their area.
"I encourage residents to take the time to share their ideas on the future of their City," he said.
"Our community told us they value open space, native trees and plants, and public spaces that foster a wide range of uses.
"We hope to advance enjoyment and safety by improving the village centre, as well as developing a multi-purpose meeting room at Memorial Reserve."
Discussions on the future of the area will begin on Saturday 7 March when interested residents are invited to provide their thoughts onsite (Hurlstone Memorial Reserve, Hurlstone Park) from 2-4pm. Residents can also have their say at the corner of Crinan and Duntroon St, Hurlstone Park on Wednesday 11 March between 5-7pm.
