Wyndham City is hosting Youth Forum 2020 next month for students to have their say on what is important to them with a view to shaping youth services to better suit the needs of young people.
Learning City portfolio holder Cr Josh Gilligan said it was important to listen to our young people and what they would need to live a more fulfilling life in Wyndham.
“We would like to hear the views of young people aged 12 to 25 who live, work, study, or spend leisure time in Wyndham, to take part Youth Forum 2020,” Cr Gilligan said.
“We want to hear about what local, national and global issues are important to you.”
“Topics we will be seeking feedback on the day include, climate change, how to cope with stress and mental health issues, body image concerns, school and study problems and the impact of social media just to name a few.”
“The information you share on the day will be used by Wyndham City and other youth services to demonstrate how we can all provide better and more appropriate services for young people.”
“Young people will be using these services, so it is vital they help shape what they offer to them.”
Young parents under the age of 25 are also encouraged to attend the Youth Forum 2020 and can bring their children along.
We will provide lunch, which will include halal, vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, and gluten free options.
